Podcast: Lynn City Councilor Nicole McClain – Frederick Douglas 7/3 Event – August Diversity Festival

LYNN (Podcast) Lynn City Councilor at Large Nicole McClain is the founder and president of North Shore Juneteenth. In this podcast McClain discusses the growth of Juneteenth and she shares updates on the Frederick Douglass July 4th address that will be taking place in Lynn on July 3rd. (Details in podcast and below). McClain is organizing a diversity festival that will be held at Lynn’s Red Rock Park in August. (Details in podcast and below). McClain also became a member of the Lynn City Council this past year as she filled the seat of the late councilor at large Buzzy Barton. She is currently running for election to the council this fall.

Frederick Douglass: Advocate for Equality explores the full trajectory of Douglass’ epic life from 1818 to 1895. In this six-panel traveling exhibition from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, viewers can learn about Douglass’s escape from slavery, his work as an abolitionist, and his tireless fight for full equality for all individuals into the Jim Crow era.
