GLOUCESTER — Interim Police Chief John McCarthy and Fire Chief Eric Smith are pleased to announce that their departments will each swear in new members and promoted officers during a ceremony tonight.

Thursday, Jan. 11, at 5 p.m.

WHERE:
Gloucester City Hall, 9 Dale Ave.

WHAT:
The Gloucester Police and Fire Departments will award formal promotions to several of their members and each will welcome new members of their respective rosters.

Gloucester Police will promote Joseph Balbo, Jerome Ciolino, Jr. and Christopher J. Frates to the rank of sergeants, as well as Eugene McDonald and Jeremiah Nicastro to the rank of lieutenants. Bryan Sanborn will also be sworn in as an officer.

The Gloucester Fire Department is promoting Gaetano LoGrande to the rank of deputy chief, Dominic Barbagallo to the rank of captain and Kevin Gargan to the rank of lieutenant.

Matthew Aiello, Thomas Aldrich, Alison Demeule, James Hannon III and David Osier will all be sworn into the department as firefighter/paramedics.
