Tarr Family Secures Annual Gloucester Christmas Tree from Nova Scotia, Despite Canadian Border Restrictions on Americans

BOSTON – The City of Gloucester’s Christmas Tree will be lit up at Kent Circle again this November, thanks to the efforts of Massachusetts State Senator Bruce Tarr, his brother Ringo, and a host of their usual supporters in cooperation with officials in Shelburne Falls, Nova Scotia.

According to A. J. Paglia, from Senator Tarr’s office at the State House, the tree will be shipped to Halifax, Nova Scotia and then shipped to Portland, Maine, where it is to be picked up by Ringo Tarr on November 19.  The tree’s ETA in Gloucester is sometime in the late afternoon of November 19.

Gloucester city officials have not said yet whether or not there will be the usual parade and ceremonial lighting on the Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving; but, that not withstanding, Gloucester WILL have its usual Shelburne Falls gift to the city standing tall during the Christmas season.
