State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Haverhill

Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 10302017 – State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Haverhill

Yesterday at about 9:55 p.m., State Police from the Newbury Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 495 Southbound, north of exit 51 in Haverhill which resulted in the death of the operator and sole occupant.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Matthew Routhier indicates that DASIA HOUTMAN, 18, of Haverhill was traveling on Route 495 Southbound in a 2004 Saturn ION when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.  HOUTMAN was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section.

State Police were assisted on scene by Haverhill Fire, MassDOT, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
