BOSTON – (Photo) The Endicott women’s volleyball team defeated Wentworth 3-1 on Saturday to finish the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play, and a 19-11 record overall. The loss drops Wentworth to 23-5 and 5-4 in CCC play.

The Gulls, who had already locked up the top seed in the conference tournament that begins play on Tuesday, fell 25-21 in the first set before taking the next three by scores of 25-21, 28-26 and 25-19 to claim the victory.

Freshman Remi Quesnelle (Sunderland, Mass.) came up big for the Gulls, posting 11 kills with just two errors on 29 swings to hit .310 for the match. The opposite also chipped in five digs and two assists in the win.

Both teams posted 53 kills in the match and were relatively even on the serve with Endicott recording seven aces and seven errors as Wentworth posted five and five.

BEYOND THE BOX

This is Endicott’s first underfeated regular season in conference play since 2008, a year in which the Gulls claimed the program’s fourth title in five years.

Senior Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) recorded yet another double-double in the win, notching 13 kills and 18 digs. Both numbers were team highs.

Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) was right behind, ending the match with 12 kills and one ace.

Setters Mareena Clotfelter (Poulsbo, Wash.) and Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) each posted double-double performances for the Gulls. Gifford finished with 21 assists and 15 digs while Clotfelter finished her night with 20 assists and 12 digs.

Erika Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) finished with 12 digs as Endicott picked up 73 in the match

FOR THE FOES

Leah Rogoz (Woodridge, Ill.) led all players with 18 kills on 45 attempts while also grabbing 18 digs.

Samantha Lassiter (Rogers, Ark.) posted 12 kills on just 21 attempts and hit .476 to lead the match. The freshman also posted eight digs and a match high six assist blocks.

Libero Lillie Clark (Vista, Calif.) paced the Leopards with 25 digs in the setback.

WHAT’S NEXT

Seedings for the upcoming CCC Tournament will be released later this weekend. Endicott will have home court throughout as the quarterfinals will begin on Tuesday evening.
