Saturday High School Sports Update: Marblehead Wins NEC Title – Lynn Jets Remain Unbeaten – Scoreboard

NORTH SHORE – The Marblehead hockey team scored three quick goals in the middle of the first period and kept the Peabody Tanners away from the net for most of the game as they upped their record to 7-0-1 in the conference to win the NEC North.  Marblehead’s overall record is now 14-0-1 with the tie a 1-1 game the first time the Headers played Peabody.  In 8 conference games, the Headers have allowed a total of 8 goals, as Ronan Cunningham picked up his 5th shutout of the season.

With two goals and two assists, senior Braden Haley now has 100 career points, while linemate Tim Kalinowski needs one more point to get to the hundred mark.  Kalinowski scored the first  goal for the Headers  as Haley had the second and fourth tallies.  P.J. Roy scored the third goal.

Peabody’s overall record is now 8-4-2, and they are 5-2-2 in the conference.
