GLOUCESTER – The Salem News is reporting that a man was killed by a commuter rail train in Gloucester last night.  Read the story:

Trespasser struck Gloucester.

On February 7, 2018 at approximately 7:35PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Gloucester for a person possibly struck by a train. Several TPD units along with Gloucester Fire and EMS responded. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a male while trespassing on the right of way in the vicinity of the LaPage Lane, Gloucester was struck by an outbound Rockport Line MBTA commuter rail train on track #1 . The male, approx age unknown at this time, has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives along with the Essex County DA’s Office are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.
