Remembering the Tall Ships

BOSTON – (Video & Photos) Just barely a week ago, the fleet of majestic Tall Ships departed Boston Harbor for the start of the next leg of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta, headed toward Quebec City and a national Canadian birthday celebration. Though not our anniversary year, Boston has much to celebrate… and at the top of the list is the tremendous cooperative effort demonstrated by so many local, regional, and national agencies and organizations—public, private, military, and civilian—and the leadership of Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Governor Charlie Baker. It does indeed take a village. A huge and heartfelt thank you to all our partners and sponsors, without whom Sail Boston could not have achieved such tremendous success, attracting millions of visitors over the five-day festival.

It was an unforgettable week, and we are filled with pride in our beautiful city, its stunning harbor, and a job well done by all.

—Mike Mooney, Chairman of the Board, Sail Boston, Inc.
