Gloucester Health Director Noreen Burke and Public Health Nurse Kelley Ries: Open Door’s “Diaper Drive” a Success; a Discussion of Other Health Topics

GLOUCESTER – The first annual “Diaper Drive,” sponsored by the Gloucester Health Department and the Cape Ann Food Pantry was a great success, according to a “thank you ” note from the Public Health Nurse Kelley Ries at the Gloucester Health Department:

Diaper Drive 3

On behalf of the Gloucester Health Department, the office of Mayor Sefatia Romeo-Theken and the Open Door Food Pantry, thank you to all who provided diaper and wipes donations during the city’s first annual Diaper Drive. All diapers and wipes donated will stock the shelves of The Open Door Food Pantry, benefitting families in need this holiday season. In total, there were 3,528 individual diapers and 27 packages of wipes donated. This overwhelming amount demonstrates the compassion and willingness of the community to work together and improve the lives of our children and families. A special thank you to all those who collaborated and provided supportby raising public awareness around the impact of the unmet need for diapers in Gloucester and throughout the nation.

If you wish to donate new and unopened packages of diapers or wipes, please drop them off at the following location during normal operating hours.
