Hello Everyone…I would first like to congratulate Softball Coach Erica Richard and her team for winning the Northeastern Conference Championship outright yesterday by defeating Everett…the girls finished 14-2 in the NEC and will play in the upcoming D1 MIAA State Tournament…Coach Mike Zukowski’s baseball team defeated Everett last night at Fraser Field to finish the NEC schedule with a “perfect” 15-0 record (17-1 overall)and also won the NEC Championship …Importantly the baseball team is being considered for a bid to the prestigious Super 8 MIAA Tournament (Best 8 teams in the State!!!)…Coach Chris Hayward’s boys tennis team was crowned Northeastern Conference Champions yesterday as well…the boys tennis team finished the season with a strong 12-3 record…First year girl’s tennis coach Chris Leblanc inherited a team with only one returning varsity starter and amazingly qualified for the Division 1 MIAA State Tournament!!! On Saturday, May 27th Lynn Classical High School, under the tutelage of boys coach Angel Melendez and girls coach Scott Fiore, will be sending 9 track athletes to the MIAA D2  State Competition in New Bedford to compete (usually we only send 2 or 3 athletes)…the Boys Track Team (4-3) was also awarded the NEC Sportsmanship Award Wednesday night at Peabody High School…Congratulations to all of our student/athletes, coaches, and parents on an amazing Spring Season in the NEC (3 Northeastern Conference Championships!


Lawrence Police Arrest Four Home Invasion Suspects, One Suspect Still at Large

LAWRENCE — Chief James Fitzpatrick reports that the Lawrence Police Department has arrested four suspects allegedly involved in a home invasion that occurred in March.

JUAN OCASIO, AGE 40, OF LAWRENCE, is charged with Home Invasion. He was arrested on May 25 by Lawrence Police in Haverhill.

CARLOS ANDUJAR, AGE 39, OF LAWRENCE, is charged with Home Invasion. He was arrested on April 14 in Lawrence.

RAUL RIOS, AGE 38, OF METHUEN, is charged with Home Invasion. He was arrested May 18 in Lawrence.

HECTOR RIVERA, AGE 25, OF LAWRENCE, is charged with Home Invasion, Possession of a Burglarious Instrument and Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle. He was arrested on April 3 in Lawrence and is also facing unrelated charges in a separate case out of Lowell District Court.

On Saturday, March 18, at approximately 2 a.m., Lawrence Police were dispatched to a residence on East Haverhill Street for a reported home invasion. It was reported that four men forced their way into an occupied apartment, armed with two handguns and a shotgun. Once the suspects were inside, they ransacked the apartment and several items were stolen.

As a result of an investigation, Lawrence Police were able to identify the four suspects as OCASIO, RIOS, ANDUJAR and RIVERA.

Police also learned of a fifth suspect they believe was involved in the incident, STEPHEN LABOY, AGE 21, OF LAWRENCE, who is charged with Home Invasion. LABOY is still at large and considered to be armed and dangerous.
