Update from Essex D.A.’s office: The white male suspect/victim in this morning’s officer-involved shooting in Lynn has been pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital.  A positive identification has not been made.

Newburyport Police to Hold Annual Fill-A-Cruiser Food Drive

NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray is pleased to announce that the Newburyport Police Department is hosting their 11th annual “Fill-A-Cruiser” Food Drive this weekend.

WHEN

Saturday, Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE

Shaw’s Supermarket, 45 Storey Ave.

Market Basket, 25 Storey Ave.

WHAT

The Newburyport Police Department is encouraging residents to donate to those in need as they do their grocery shopping this holiday season.

Donations of nonperishable food items, cash and gift cards are requested to support the Salvation Army of Newburyport. Both Shaw’s and Market Basket will have pre-packaged bags – ranging from $5 to $25 – available for purchase to fill the police cruisers.
