NAHANT – (Video & Photos) Northeastern University will be presenting their plans for expansion of their marine science center at East Point in Nahant Thursday night (2/15/18) at 7:30 p.m. at Nahant Town Hall. Some local residents are opposed to the project and have been attending informational meetings around town and standing out on Nahant Road to make residents aware of the expansion project. These residents and the University are encouraging town residents to attend the Thursday informational session which will include a presentation from the school’s Marine Science Center. Some concerns for residents included the size of a proposed new building, increased staff, parking and traffic as well as increased water intake and outtake that may impact marine life off Nahant.
