Catalog Description

Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and a host of other media apps pave the communication highway originally built by traditional media. This course will investigate ways of analyzing all types of media to determine authenticity and credibility.   Participants will also learn how images, sound, and text are used to tell a story and to determine whether the story is true or false. Projects and lesson plans will be designed to help educators teach students how to identify fact from fiction and to discern fake news from factual evidence.

Catalog Description 

This course will provide educators with strategies to promote mental and physiological wellness in the daily practice of dealing with students, parents, colleagues, administrators, Common Core, Curriculum Frameworks, classroom interruptions, artifacts, portfolios, and runny noses.  Participants will be presented a variety of relaxation techniques and wellness regimens that are readily available and easy to use.  The idea of creating one’s own reality will also be explored.
