Ipswich came from behind to pull off a comeback win against HW at home today. Cara Goudie from HW struck first 8 minutes into the second half. Ipswich answered back after a long series of penalty corners, with Riley Daly finding the back of the net with fifteen minutes to go. Senior Captain Olivia Corcoran scored the winning goal for Ipswich with 58 seconds left on an assist from Heather Milano.

Notes from HW coach Jennifer Flynn

Katie Hankin senior captain outside hitter had six serving aces and served 92.3% in she also contributed 10 digs.

Lauren Flynn senior outside hitter captain had 15 kills with a .239% percentage. She also contributed 10 digs

Cecily Szady senior middle hitter captain served in 93.8% she also had 2 blocks and 6 kills

Grace Lapain senior libero contributed 12 digs

Alex Padellaro senior setter had 17 assists

Ipswich 3 Triton 0 – Notes from Ipswich coach Kerry O’Connor

25-14, 24-26, 25-8, 25-17

Serving was especially strong today with serving streaks by Haley O’Connor who served for 3 aces and 16 points in the first set and Lauren Kennedy who served for 9 aces and 16 points in the third set.  Grace Quinn and Mikayla Koerber transitioned well as setters and right side hitters and had many accurate passes.  Meghan O’Connor had great energy and was an all around solid player earning multiple kills and aces throughout the match.


College Notes

BEVERLY. – Endicott field hockey student-athlete Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield High School) has earned her first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week honor, as announced by the league office today.
The Gulls posted two wins this past week, defeating Salem State 10-0 on September 4 and Rensselaer 2-1 on September 9. Grabau netted goals in both games, with her tally against RPI being the game-winner. She has now scored in all three of Endicott’s games so far this season
