Congressman Seth Moulton Endorses More “Service Leader” Candidates for Congress

Washington, D.C. –  Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) announced his endorsement of eight more service-leader Democratic candidates for Congress in key districts across the country. This is the third wave of Congressional endorsements Moulton has made in the 2018 cycle. These candidates represent a new generation of leadership in the Democratic Party and are driven by a commitment to service. As reported by the Boston Globe, “apart from House Democratic leadership…no other member of Congress has raised more to help the party win back the House than Moulton.”

“Washington today is defined by failed leadership and political divisiveness,” said Moulton. “In order to change that status quo, we need to bring a new generation of service-oriented leaders to Congress. We also need to put a check on the dangerous policies of President Trump, and the best way to do that is for Democrats to take back the House. That is why I’m supporting candidates who have demonstrated that they’re willing to put politics aside and do what’s best for the country: improving access to jobs, health care, and an education that prepares Americans for the modern economy to grow the middle class. I proudly endorse these candidates and look forward to working with them in Congress.”

The candidates receiving endorsements from Moulton include:
Gil Cisneros (CA-39), Navy veteran
Jared Golden (ME-02), Marine veteran
Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Air Force veteran and former Teach for America corps member
Gina Ortiz Jones (TX-23), Air Force veteran
Brendan Kelly (IL-12), Navy veteran
Conor Lamb (PA-18), Marine veteran
Max Rose (NY-11), Army veteran
Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), CIA veteran

Candidates previously endorsed by Moulton include: Josh Butner (CA-50), Jason Crow (CO-6), Dan Feehan (MN-1), Ken Harbaugh (OH-07), Roger Dean Huffstetler (VA-05), Joseph Kopser (TX-21), Dan McCready (NC-09), Amy McGrath (KY-06), Patrick Ryan (NY-19), Aaron Scheinberg (WV-2), and Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11). In addition to Congressional candidates, Moulton also endorsed a successful slate of state and local candidates in Virginia’s 2017 election cycle.
