“Unfinished Music” OnDemand : Molly Pinto Madigan

“Molly Pinto Madigan is quite an extraordinary young woman.  She’s a veritable whirlwind of creativity. Molly clearly has music in her soul; she weaves musical tales of love and love lost with a charming, clear voice that is reminiscent of Sandy Denny.”
-Kathy Sands-Boehmer, Me & Thee Coffeehouse

“Molly Pinto Madigan’s voice resides and surrounds the frequency of angels – her music destroys me.”

-Jeff Black, GRAMMY-recognized singer/songwriter
Graduating summa cum laude from Salem State University as a Presidential Arts Scholar and the first recipient of a double Creativity Award in Music and Creative Writing, Molly Pinto Madigan has been hailed as a “tremendous talent,” both for her skills as a songwriter and for her “pure” and “unaffected” singing style.

A recipient of a prestigious Passim Iguana Music Fund grant, Molly’s most recent release, “Wildwood Bride,” has garnered praise locally and abroad.  The album, which was named “Album of the Year” by Red Line Roots, has been featured on Noise Trade and the CD Baby homepage banner.  One of the songs from the album won first place in the Family Folk Chorale Songwriting Contest, and another of Molly’s originals took first place in the Boston Folk Festival’s Songwriting Contest.  Molly was also named “Local Artist of the Year” by Creative Salem and “Favorite Local Female Songwriter” in the Big Reds Awards, and she recently competed in a nation-wide A&R search by Chesky Records, beating out over 3,500 artists to make it to the top two finalists.

Today, Molly performs all around New England as a singer/songwriter, writing novels about ballads, and ballads about fairy tales and homicidal mermaids.  She enjoys tea, ballroom dancing, and beaches, where she spends her time indulging her mermaid nature.
