MSO Radio OnDemand : “Connections” – Memorial Day Events; Interviews from Area News Makers

MSONEWSports presents “Connections,” a brand new audio magazine program on MSO Radio to be “aired” Thursdays at 11 a.m.  Bill Newell and Rick Moore will feature news, news makers, Left-Right-Center politics, entertainment and whatever else they can come up with that North Shore listeners might be interested in.

This week, we’ll talk with Gloucester Fire Department Chief Eric Smith about a recent half million dollar grant the department received to upgrade radio technology to improve safety for each firefighter.  Heather Atwood, Managing Editor of the online magazine “The Other Cape,” will continue her top 50 countdown of the world’s most popular dishes, and she look at spring foods and a plant revival on Cape Ann.

The second half of the program will focus on Memorial Day with an interview with Kate Fox, Executive Director of Destination Salem, who will help us get this summer started.  Mike Shulze, Peabody resident and veteran of the Armed Forces, will talk with Bill Newell about what Memorial Day is and what it means to him.  And the Veterans’ Services Agent in the city of Peabody, Steve Patten, a former captain in the 82nd Airborne Division and veteran of two combat tours in Afghanistan, will explain what services are available to surviving vets that they might not know about, and how important Memorial Day is.
