HAMILTON – (Audio, Videos) The top two seeds in MIAA Division 6 North met this afternoon Hamilton as the number two seed Stoneham Spartans (8-2) scored a touchdown with 28 seconds left in the game to defeat the Hamilton-Wenham Generals (9-1), 20 to 18. Stoneham had built a 14-0 lead before the Generals took the lead, 18-14 with 6:36 left in the game. But the Spartans then put together a 15 play, 63 yard touchdown drive with Christos Argyropoulos picking up his second score of the game from a yard out.
Tre Pignone had the only other touchdown for Stoneham, while Phil Durgin, Cam Peach, and Ian Coffey scored for the Generals.
Stoneham outgained Hamilton-Wenham, 246 to 209.
