Megan Wolf, Boston’s new super girl, starring in THAT GIRL.
Born Megan McKenzie Downey in Sept 1988, from the eternally movie-famous New England fishing city of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Megan got an early start in the performing arts through community theatre and from a young age demanded the spotlight! Whether she was enacting scenes from The Sound of Music, or memorizing every word to the Spice Girls latest hits, Megan was always prepared to entertain. She made everyday life her stage. She later ventured into rock cover bands and R&B projects playing in the greater Boston area by the name Megan McKenzie. By the time Megan turned 27, she knew she needed to explore her writing skills as an artist and chose to put her LIVE career on a brief hiatus Fall of 2015 and moved to Brooklyn, NY to retreat, reinvent, and write.
By January 2016, not only had she developed as a songwriter, but she was back in demand for performances and decided to move back to the Boston area. Over the past 6 years she’s recorded with many Boston artists including hip hop artist The Trademarc, pop artist Ricky Diamond, rock legend Jon Butcher, and most recently international blues guitarist, Graham Neill and the Band of Wolves.
The latter giving rise to a career changing opportunity for Megan to sign on with Boston’s Electric Factory X Management and Production company led by Jon Butcher and Leighton Wolffe. Under their leadership and support, Megan has produced, together with Jon Butcher, her debut album THAT GIRL- an authentic mix of hook-driven melodies, energetic pop rhythms, and edgy lyrics-speaking directly from Megan’s heart and truth.
Megan continues to perform with her 80’s pop band Safety 80’s, in the Gloucester area. She is currently preparing for a run of shows with Elliot Tuffin and The Joe Cocker Band, featuring orginal members, for a tribute concert for the late legend. She’s incredibly grateful to perform in this show and is excited to share the stage with some of the best cast of musicians around.
