Linda Greenlaw Returns to Gloucester at Fishermen’s Memorial Service, 25 Years after “Perfect Storm”

GLOUCESTER – The annual memorial service for “those that go down to the sea in ships” took place Saturday evening at the Man at the Wheel monument in Gloucester.Grace Greenlaw Cominelli  Guest speaker Linda Greenlaw, captain of F/V Earnest, was introduced by emcee Barry Pett.  During the emotional ceremony, Greenlaw spoke of her love of fishing and the optimism engendered by fishermen throughout her career.

In the interview below, Greenlaw talks with Rick Moore about her experience during the No-Name Storm, aka “the Perfect Storm,” 25 years ago; and she spoke of her love of Gloucester.  And she posed with the musical duo of Alexandra Grace and Josh Cominelli who performed at the memorial ceremony.Fishermen memorial 2
