Jason Doviak, Salem State Associate Athletic Director Hired to Become New Athletic Director at Alfred State (NY)

SALEM — Peggy Carl, Salem State director of athletics & recreation, has announced that senior associate athletic director Jason Doviak has resigned to become the new athletic director at Alfred State (N.Y.). Doviak

Carl recognized Doviak for his commitment to the athletics & recreation department at the University. “I want to acknowledge the superior work he has done on behalf of the student-athletes and staff at Salem State University. His positive impact has been felt across all of our sports and has reached into all facets of the Viking community. The dedication that Jason has brought to the Salem State athletic and recreation program has been nothing short of amazing.  He has great institutional knowledge and we will miss the leadership he has provided in many areas of the university. We wish Jason and his family the very best as they begin this new journey.”

Doviak began his tenure at Salem State in 2005 as the assistant athletic director. During his time he oversaw the annual budget, developed and conducted leadership training sessions for students and coaches, and was responsible for the end-of-year reporting for the department. Prior to Salem State, Doviak served as the athletics business administrator at the College of St. Rose (Albany, NY).

“I am thankful for the many opportunities Salem State University has provided me over the last 11.5 years,” stated Doviak. “I value the relationships I have built within the Athletic and Recreation Department as well as across campus. I would like to thank Peggy Carl, Tim Shea, and especially Dr. Stanley Cahill for the support and guidance during my tenure. The time is right for my family and I to consider the next chapter of our lives and to take on new opportunities and challenges. I am very excited about joining Alfred State College and eager to get started in my new role as Director of Athletics. “

Doviak will continue to work at the university until April 18. A search for his replacement will begin later this spring.
