Gloucester Police, Mayor on the Boulevard with Pokemon Go Safety Day

GLOUCESTER – The Gloucester Police Department led a Pokemon Go Safety Day this morning with Lt. Mike Gossom and Officer Pete Sutera out in front of an estimated 30-40 youngsters and a dozen or so adults.  Gloucester Mayor Sefatia Romeo-Theken and her executive assistant, Christopher Sicuranza, were on hand at just before 9 a.m. at the Fishermen’s Statue, to greet the participants and kick off the safety day.  Officer Richard Tucker was dressed up as a Pokemon character who sweated through taking pictures with the youngsters.  Plenty of water was provided by the Gloucester Police Department.Pokemon go gloucester

Other Police Department members helped get things started, including Assistant Chief John McCarthy, Sgt. Sandy MacDonald, and Officer Joe Parady.

Lieutenant Gossom and Officer Sutera took the gathering along the boulevard while pursuing Pokemon characters and explaining the hazards of outside Internet games play.  The walk concluded at 11 a.m. as the temperature approached 90 degrees.
