According to the office of Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett, at approximately 1:30 Friday afternoon, Beverly Police responded to a report of a body in a sailboat that had washed up on shore at Lynch Park. The deceased is an elderly man who appears to have died of natural causes. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner removed the body and will perform an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.
The deceased has not been positively identified. The matter remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office.
