Abbot Library’s Monthly Poetry Salon to Resume in September Featuring Work of Vietnamese-American Poet Ocean Vuong – Sunday 2 p.m.

MARBLEHEAD – On Sunday, September 25th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, the Poetry Salon at the Abbot Public ocean-vuongLibrary will feature the poems of Ocean Vuong, a Vietnamese-American poet who recently addressed the Massachusetts Poetry Festival in Salem. He is the author of Night Sky with Exit Wounds (2016), winner of the 2016 Whiting Award.

Ocean has received honors and awards from Poets House, the Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts, the Academy of American Poets, and a Pushcart Prize. His poetry and fiction have been featured in The Nation, New Republic, The New Yorker, The New York TimesPoetry, and the American Poetry Review, which awarded him the Stanley Kunitz Prize for Younger Poets. His work has been translated into Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Cantonese, French, Italian, Hindi, Spanish, and Ukrainian. Claire Keyes, Marblehead Poet and Professor Emerita at Salem State University, will lead the Salon.
