18 Month Old Boy Dies in Danvers Yesterday – Police Investigating – Update From District Attorney’s Office

DANVERS – Danvers Police and the Essex County District Attorney’s Office are investing the death of an 18 month old boy yesterday afternoon at Fellows Street in Danvers. The Essex County DA’s office issued this statement this morning.

“Please be advised that an autopsy is expected to be performed today on an 18-month old child from Danvers who died last evening.  While the death appears to be a medical issue, we cannot say for certain until an autopsy is performed.

At approximately 5 pm yesterday, the child’s father arrived at 24 Fellows Street to pick the child up from the babysitter.  The child, who had been napping in a crib in a bedroom, was found unresponsive by the babysitter.  Emergency services were contacted, the child was transported to Beverly Hospital and the child was pronounced deceased.

The Essex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police detectives and the Danvers Police continue to investigate the matter.  When additional information is available, it will be released.”
